Created on 24 Nov 2010 by Robert Morrison

Stirling Team wins CFA Global Investment Research Challenge UK Final 2010.

The internationally recognised MSc in Investment Analysis was the first CFAMasters programme in Scotland to be awarded CFA Institute recognition. Founded in 1989, this one year programme is the longest-established Masters programme in its field in the United Kingdom. Covering at least 70% of the CFA® Program syllabus, it equips students with the knowledge needed to work in the investment management profession, and beyond.

Reflecting the programme's close links with the profession the student with the best academic performance each year receives the Walter Scott prize.

Nitin Mehta, Managing Director CFA Institute (EMEA), said: "Stirling is our first Program Partner in Scotland and supports CFA Institute’s strategy to work with the leading academic institutions around the world. Combining the MSc in Investment Analysis course with the CFA Program provides successful students with a great advantage. Not only will it provide a comprehensive understanding of the investment industry and finance but also give students a great asset with which to market themselves to employers. The partnership is a great example of combining the very best in academic and professional education.”

Such is the international reputation of the programme that students come from a wide variety of cultures and educational and professional backgrounds, and this lends the programme a unique flavour.

A minimum of 70% of the level I, II and III CFA® syllabus is covered during the programme and a number of partial CFA Scholarships will be available for MSc Investment Analysis students who wish to sit the CFA exams under the CFA Institute Student Scholarship Programme.

The CFA Institute gives no exemptions from it's exams and so graduates from the Investment Analysis programme must sit levels I, II and III exams if they wish to pursue the CFA Charter. At least one prestigious Karen Napier Scholarship will be available on a competitive basis for entry in September 2011 and information about the scholarship may be found here.

Investment Analysis graduates from Stirling enjoy a number of exemptions from the exams of professional bodies. Find details of these exemptions here
