
The Division’s expertise spans major contemporary fields of research such as public sector management, international business, operations management and entrepreneurship. Strong links with external business, industry and government agencies inform and enhance teaching, maintaining our position as a leader in producing world-class graduates.
Our student-centred teaching methods are at the heart of the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, selected regularly by students from around the world as their first choice programme of study.
Our vibrant research culture supports extensive activity of both national and international importance which has a direct impact on society and the economy. Research staff in the Division have established collaborative working arrangements with a wide range of private, public and third sector organisations, including local authorities, NHS Trusts and government agencies.
The Business & Organisation Division adopts a variety of approaches to examining prominent manangement issues. We welcome applications for MPhil or PhD research in: public service and policy, project manangement, international business, organisational networks (and innovation), knowledge work (expert labour and professions), leadership, and evolution of management as a career.
