Stirling Management School is committed to providing an enaging and lively research environment.  Our commitment to high-quality research is demonstrated by the fact that our Graduate Centre draws full-time and part-time PhD students from countries all over the world to learn within an inspirational and vibrant research environment.

ESRC Scottish Doctoral Training Centre

The University of Stirling is a member institution of the ESRC Scottish Doctoral Training Centre.  The Scottish DTC is the largest consortium in the UK and offers a wealth of supervisory expertise across the social sciences as well as numerous training opportunities. Stirling students will be part of a Scottish postgraduate community and will have a range of opportunities to develop their expertise and their networks, both disciplinary and interdisciplinary.

Higher Education Academy Doctorial Programme

The HEA Doctoral Programme forms part of the Academy’s strategy to undertake research to develop pedagogical knowledge and evidence-based practice in HE. Seven Doctoral studentships are available in the academic year 2012 - 2013.

Research Requirements

The proposed topic should be discipline specific learning and teaching research or interdisciplinary/generic pedagogical research and should have a clear benefit to either practice or to policy on practice.

MRes programmes

The Stirling Management School offers an MRes (Masters of Research) in Business and Management and is a one-year full-time Masters degree intended for students who are planning to become academic researchers and teachers or consultants.
